Yachts charter is a great opportunity to experience a great adventure on the water, see a piece of the world and experience many unforgettable experiences. If you are still an untrained sailor and need some advice in this matter, the YACHTIC.com team will guide you through the whole process step by step!
STEP ONE: GET THE POWERS
Before you decide to charter a yacht, you must have the appropriate permissions – in this case you need the right sailing license and radio operator’s certificate (SRC). Documents should be arranged in advance because some shipowners require you to send them a copy about 2 weeks before chartering. If you do not have permission, you can also choose the cruise with a skipper, which will take care of controlling the yacht, while you and your crew will be able to focus on rest.
STEP TWO: CHOOSE YOUR PLACE OF CRUISE
There are so many beautiful places to see and finding Newport Beach yacht rentals or similar couldn’t be easier. If this is your first time on a yacht, choose those on calmer waters with a considerable number of islands, islets, bays, and ports. Croatia is an ideal destination for beginner sailors, which guarantees a safe cruise without unnecessary surprises.
STEP THREE: DECIDE ON THE DATE OF CRUISE
Once we have obtained the appropriate permissions and choose the place where we want to sail, we can decide on the date of our cruise. It is best to do this before the start of the season or just after it ends – then the prices for yacht charter are lower and often save a lot of money.
STEP FOUR: CHOOSE THE YACHT
The surface and size of the yacht should be adjusted to the number of people who intend to take part in the cruise. Although large vessels certainly provide more comfort, it’s worth choosing a slightly smaller yacht that is easier to use and control.
STEP FIVE: MAKE THE FINAL FORMALITIES
Yacht charter takes place at the time of making the initial booking – the person chartering has 5 days to make the final decision and pay the appropriate advance. This can be done immediately by covering part of the amount, while the remaining amount should be paid a few weeks before the cruise itself. On the day the cruise begins, we should appear with the crew in the port, and then report to the shipowner, who will hand us the yacht. It is recommended that before setting out on a cruise, carefully check the equipment of the yacht and check the condition of all equipment. The process ends when the office thresholds are exceeded and the acceptance report is signed with the deposit paid.
After picking up the yacht and fulfilling all formalities, we can go on a cruise! Then we can do nothing but relax and open to adventure!
